Rates
My rate is $125.00 per 55-minute session. Under special circumstances and at my discretion, I offer a sliding scale fee.
Insurance
I am an in-network provider for:
Cigna
Highmark Blue Shield
United/Optum
Independence Blue Cross
Keystone Healthplan East
Amerihealth
Geisinger
Aetna
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy/mental health services.
I’d recommend asking your insurance provider the following questions to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- Do I have a copay? What is that amount?
- Do I have a deductible? What is it annually and how much have I paid into it this year?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need a referral from my primary care physician for my mental health services to be covered?
Payment
I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment.
Insurance Copay
This is paid to me directly before I submit your insurance claim. This amount varies based on your insurance plan and is typically the copay for “specialist” listed on your insurance card
One Therapy Session
The full payment for one 55-minute therapy session is $125.00 if you are a self-pay client.
Other Fees
Services other than scheduled therapy sessions, such as consultations, written reports and evaluations, are charged on a fee-for-service basis. Fees may vary depending on the nature and scope of the services provided and are mutually agreed upon before they are rendered.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged a $125 fee for the missed session.
Good Faith Estimate
If you do not have insurance or are not using your insurance benefits, under law you have the right to receive from BB Counseling a “Good Faith Estimate” that explains how much your mental health care will cost. This is an estimate of expected (non-emergency) charges, and you may request it before you schedule service or after your treatment is underway. Be sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. If you then receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the charges. For more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
